Today I had a really lovely pregnancy session with mummy and daddy-to-be Pooja & Rupen. They are soon expecting twin baby boys, and I’m sure you will agree mummy looks absolutely beautiful. I was pleased to get some shots outdoors too, with the bluebells in full bloom.

Back to baby girls today – meet the beautiful Honor – Rae and her big brother Harrison. Honor was just 5 days old at the session, which meant that she was mostly nice and sleepy – but definitely with a healthy appetite! Harrison played big brother really well and I’m delighted with the images.
Today’s session was with a slightly older newborn at 2 and a half weeks. Asher was just gorgeous, but not so keen on sleeping at all! We persevered and after lots of feeding soothing and calming, we managed to get him to sleep just for long enough to get some lovely images. And I even got a big smile!

I developed the idea of Perfect Start Pregnancy whilst still studying for my degree in nutrition at the University of Nottingham. Throughout my academic journey and my experience working as a nutritionist I have had the opportunity to observe the potential impact of maternal nutrition on foetal development. In my own research, supplementary to the wealth of well established and peer reviewed information regarding the impact of maternal nutrition, I was able to see first hand how wholesome and trimester-specific nutrition could impact the future health and wellbeing of children.
So how does what you eat whilst pregnant affect your little one?
Saidee Bailey “It is proven that maternal nutrition has power far beyond just helping to keep mum healthy. Maternal nutritional stimuli have the power to directly effect gene expression in your growing baby, with the most significant influences seen on processes such as metabolism and neurogenesis. The powerful effects of what mum eats throughout her pregnancy can last throughout the life of her child, with proper nutrition helping to keep the child as it grows into adulthood free from a range of diseases such as CHD and diabetes.”
In my former years I worked as a nanny gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of infant care and maternal relationships. Moving forward and developing my understanding of the natal journey I became trained and accredited as a Doula by DOULA UK and as both a maternity nurse practitioner accredited by the MNT and a lactation consultant (still working towards my 1000 hours) by the IBCLC.
Perfect Start Pregnancy has been a long time in the planning; we are linked to some incredible people within the baby industry who have all been immensely supportive of both my personal development and the development of the business. I can’t wait to launch!

Another lovely baby girl today! Georgina, 5 days old today, came along with mummy, daddy & big sister Saskia whom I also photographed at 5 days . Both girls did really well, with Saskia stealing the limelight – she loved the camera. We got a lovely selection of images and as always here is a little sneak peek!
